We are proud to announce that the Charities Institute Ireland has awarded HUGG the Triple Lock Standard — a significant recognition of transparency, governance, and ethical fundraising in the charity sector.
To put this achievement into perspective, of the approximately 11,500 registered charities in Ireland, only around 350 have achieved this standard.
This recognition reflects something deeply important: our commitment to the people who place their trust in us. It means that our behind-the-scenes operations perfectly match the care, integrity, and accountability we bring to our support services.
The Triple Lock Standard recognises charities across three key areas:
Transparent Reporting:
We are committed to openness and accountability. We make our annual reports and financial statements publicly available on our website so supporters can clearly see how we use funds and the impact they help create.
Good Governance:
We operate with strong governance structures, policies, and oversight to ensure we manage the charity responsibly, ethically, and sustainably.
Ethical Fundraising:
We are committed to respectful and honest fundraising, ensuring we handle every donation with care and direct it toward supporting those bereaved by suicide.

Why this matters
When someone reaches out to HUGG, they enter a community built on compassion, trust, and connection. This award is a meaningful reminder that every part of our organisation reflects the same care we offer through our services.
