HUGG Contributes to ICGP Wellbeing and Lifestyle Medicine Webinar

HUGG recently participated in the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) Wellness Series, sharing experience on suicide bereavement and the support available to people affected by suicide loss.

About the ICGP

The Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) is the professional body for general practice in Ireland, providing education, training and support to GPs across the country.

As part of its work to support the wellbeing of its members, the ICGP runs a Wellness Series featuring monthly webinars for almost 5,000 ICGP members. The series covers a range of topics relevant to the wellbeing and professional development of GPs.

HUGG Contributes to the Wellness Series

During the webinar, HUGG shared its experience of providing suicide bereavement support to adults and highlighted the importance of compassionate and appropriate support following a suicide loss.

GPs and other healthcare professionals can play an important role in supporting people experiencing suicide bereavement. Increasing awareness of suicide bereavement support can help ensure that people affected by suicide loss are aware of the services and supports available to them.

HUGG is grateful to the ICGP for the opportunity to contribute to the Wellness Series and to help increase awareness of suicide bereavement and support in Ireland among healthcare professionals.
