What to expect
- 7.15 pm The Zoom line will open.
- 7.30 pm The webinar will begin with a welcome message from Fiona Tuomey, Founder and CEO of HUGG.
- Q&A will be available but it’s more an invitation for reflections rather than questions. We’re not in a position to answer questions about your specific situation.
- If you would like to get support on something specific, please take note of the organisations and contact details on the slide at the end of the webinar.
- 7.45 pm Bryan Nolan, a grief and loss specialist will talk about what makes suicide bereavement different and how to cope with this devastating loss.
- 8.30 pm A personal story of suicide loss will be shared, focusing on what was found supportive and helpful along their grief journey.
- 8.45 pm HUGG will share information on its free suicide bereavement support groups and other appropriate support services.
- 9.00 pm the event will finish.
Who should attend
- Anyone bereaved by suicide, whether you have experienced a bereavement this year or at an earlier time in your life. There is no timeline for grief.
- If you are supporting someone bereaved by suicide, you might find the information useful to share with your loved ones who are grieving.
- Professionals who work with the public and support people bereaved by suicide are welcome, including Family Resource Centre staff, library staff, social prescribers, GPs primary health care staff, funeral directors, chaplains, Gardai, citizen information staff, teachers and educators, and many more.
