Ireland’s First story book for children bereaved by suicide

We’re looking for your help.

HUGG are working with HSE Ireland , Irish Childhood Bereavement Network (part of the Irish Hospice Foundation), Barnardos Ireland Pieta House and https://www.facebook.com/TempleStreetCUH to develop Ireland’s first illustrated story book for children (3-7 years) bereaved by suicide. We hope that this story book and guide will offer some small measure of help to children and families navigating the trauma of bereavement by suicide.

Accompanying the book will be guidance about how to have difficult conversations with children about death by suicide and other useful information on childhood bereavement and supports.

Although the illustrated story book and the guide is aimed at young children we would also like to capture questions asked by children at all ages.
