HUGG Ireland’s national suicide bereavement organisation, is seeking a dedicated and strategic Project Manager to lead two transformative national initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to use your project management expertise to support those bereaved by suicide across Ireland.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, part-time leadership role (20 hours per week) on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of two critical pillars of our 2026 strategy:

Volunteer Recruitment Campaign: Scaling our volunteer base by recruiting and onboarding 30 new HUGG Volunteers.

Telephone Support Line Development: Designing and launching a brand-new national peer-to-peer telephone support service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Recruitment & Growth
-
Develop a comprehensive strategy to attract and retain volunteers.

Enhance onboarding and training processes in collaboration with the Groups team.

Track recruitment metrics and adjust tactics to meet quarterly growth goals.
2. Telephone Support Service Project

Lead the project design, including technology setup, pilot testing, and service scope.

Establish operational protocols and guidelines for peer-to-peer support.

Ensure the service aligns with HUGG’s mission and national standards.
3. Project Management & Governance

Manage project budgets and resources alongside the Operations Manager.

Identify risks and ensure strict compliance with GDPR and safeguarding standards.

Provide regular progress reports to the CEO and stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Criteria:

Education: NFQ Level 8 degree in Project Management, Health Services, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in project management or programme coordination (ideally in the non-profit or mental health sector).

Leadership: Proven experience in volunteer management or a leadership role.

Skills: Exceptional communication and organisational skills with a firm grasp of safeguarding and quality standards.
Desirable:

Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP).

Experience with Salesforce (CRM).

Experience launching helplines or peer-to-peer services.
- An understanding of suicide bereavement.
