Kicking Off in Their Memory

The loss of a loved one to suicide can deeply impact mental and physical health, with grief often leading to unhealthy coping habits. AfterWords* the national survey conducted by HUGG and the NSRF, found that men bereaved by suicide are more likely to turn to alcohol, drugs, or gambling as a way of coping.

But suicide grief doesn’t have to be faced alone. Finding connection with others who share similar experiences can bring comfort and a sense of belonging.

That’s why HUGG is launching a special remembrance soccer tournament for men, to honour loved ones lost to suicide.

Players will be invited to come together monthly for a friendly kick-about, in preparation for the tournament.

Whether your loss is recent or many years past, you are welcome to join us.

We need your help to make it happen.

Do you have an interest in soccer, and/or skills to lead a light training session for all abilities?
